GEN/COL/MAJ Workshop

Purpose: To educate members on the rank responsibilities of a MAJ/COL/GEN in preparation for their test and upcoming rank.

General

Abbreviation: GEN

Description: This position is awarded to Majors/Colonels who may become eligible for a promotion after 12 weeks of training and experience in KGC.

Requirements: Successful fulfillment of the Captain Rank, 12 weeks in KGC, and exceptional work in their squad. Must have one month of experience as a Captain or Major.

Duties: Encourages growth of the divisions at all times but careful of not spamming the members too much. Generals are responsible for all training within the divisions. Generals assist officers on background checks, uniform checks, and facilitate all aspects of the recruit training program. Generals are to ensure there is a Division meeting once a week. Generals are responsible for all promotions and demotions from 1 Captain down with approval from their Co-Founder. (No Public Disciplinary Action is condoned) This is to ensure that there is no quick judgment calls, favoritism, and the best decision will be made for the divisions.

Generals are to ensure they are familiar with how to properly maintain divisions tags and Clan Management System. Member in-activity is based on general’s discretion. General must be aware of all situations regarding gamers who are inactive for more than 30 days. If a member is inactive for 30 or more days he or she needs to be removed and a message sent to this gamer tag letting them know when they are able to get back online they are able to rejoin their divisions. Generals are to be knowledgeable of their division’s procedure on transfers, as well as notify proper leaders of members who are interested in transferring divisions.

Teams – Each squad is permitted to have specific teams based on member interest, for example: Headhunters (MLG based gameplay), Forge, SWAT, Snipers/Quick Scope, Search and Destroy,

Objective based games.

Generals are expected to provide supervision over Team Captains to manage the organization of each squad team, and to ensure the communication of practice times and possible matches. Generals are also responsible for making sure that members are practicing good sportsmanship.

Custom games – Generals are asked to supervise the officers, and to keep game nights active. Encourage association with members of all ranks of the squad to build relations. Generals are asked to participate in game nights, when available to familiarize themselves with the members and to also make sure that good sportsmanship is practiced.

Recruiting Parties – Encouraging officers to inspire the growth of the squad at all times by motivating them to recruit quality members into the squad. Generals are to evaluate officer staff and make sure proper recruiting techniques are being passed down to all lower ranks.

Reports to: Co-Founder or any other high rank.

KGC GENs should be taught how to put together a proper division report, which will be turned into division leaders to be passed to Senior leadership on Sundays. This is a requirement. Generals who may be gone or away at the times these need to be turned in should ask the COL for help with this and inform division staff for help with the CMS numbers. They should be teaching their MAJ and COL how to prepare these reports as part of their training to become general.

Colonel

Abbreviation: COL

Description: This position is awarded to Majors who may become eligible for a promotion after 10 weeks of training and experience in KGC.

Requirements: Successful fulfillment of the Captain Rank, 10 weeks in KGC, and exceptional work in their squad. Must have one month of experience as a Captain or Major.

Duties: Colonels are to take insight and training from the Generals and Co-founders to help supervise their divisions. Encourages growth of the divison at all times but careful of not spamming the members too much. Colonels assist in all training within the divisions. Colonels assist officers on background checks, uniform checks, and facilitate all aspects of the recruit training program. Colonels are responsible for all promotions and demotions from 5 Captain down and 5 Lieutenant down with approval from their General. (No Public Disciplinary Action is condoned) Colonels must be aware of all situations regarding gamers who are inactive for more than 30 days. If a member is inactive for 30 or more days he or she needs to be removed and a message sent to this gamer tag letting them know when they are able to get back online they are able to rejoin their division. Colonels are to be knowledgeable of their division’s procedure on squad to squad transfers, as well as notify proper leaders of members who are interested in transferring divisions. Colonels are to be a role model for all leadership in their divisions by setting the example and providing a fun and positive gaming experience for all members.

Division Activities – The following is a list of standard squad activities that Colonels must enforce:

Major

Abbreviation: MAJ

Description: This position is given to those Captains who may become eligible for a promotion after 8 weeks of training and experience in KGC.

Requirements: Successful fulfillment of the Captain Rank by showing exceptional work in organization and leadership in their divisions.

Duties: To assist the General in managing the squad and taking his place when he or she is not present. Majors represent the General in Division meetings. The Major also oversees all squad teams, and appoints captains to supervise teams as needed.

They are expected to help the General to solve the biggest problems of the squad. The Major is in charge of facilitating game nights along with the Captains throughout the week. This is where the major begins looking for the next leaders in their divisions by watching for leadership potential in members, while also enforcing the rules of the Code of Conduct.

Reports to: General or Co- Founder.

Comments: This position is the preparation to become a General and

receive the opportunity to run a whole squad; therefore they are to be

fully trained in the organization as one.

These ranks are all voluntary positions. If the individual cannot handle the responsibilities or time commitments necessary for this rank, they are not forced to take the position.

MAJ/COL/GEN are highly respected ranks in KGC. These are the members that the squad looks up to and expects to handle issues that may arise. They should treat each case with importance and make sure they know both their limits as the rank and who to take larger issues to.
